(Actionable) Key to happiness according to science
Hello! Psst. Do you have a time machine?
Let’s travel back to the good old days. Side note: in your mind, unless you secretly own a time machine… if so, I’d really love to see 1920’s Paris.
“The good old days” your mind tricks you back into. Of course some days really were mind blowingly amazing.
But the other times it makes you remember them through rose colored glasses. You probably didn’t think much of them while you were living it. You were most likely focused on your at-the-time problems instead. It’s just in looking back that you realized your life was worry-free, careless, and you could just run smilingly along the meadow picking daisies.
Buckle up, I’m here to pour you over with knowledge. Did you know? Science has proven that gratitude is the fastest way to increase happiness. Simply said, it promotes our well-being.
Yes, I know how it sounds. But there’s more truth to that than meets the eye. And do you really want to keep on looking back through your pink glasses instead of living life in the moment?
And with Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s only right to talk about it. Gratitude and Thanksgiving go hand in hand like Rose Quartz and Amethyst.
So how do you start appreciating the moments? Here's how I do it. (And a second side note: feel free to use any objects you love.)
First and foremost, I carry crystals with me on the daily. Every time I notice my crystal, whether it be the ones I'm wearing as jewelry, the ones I'm keeping in my pocket, or any others, that’s my “cue” to feel grateful for something. It works like a treat.
Initially you may force quite generic answers. “I’m thankful for my family; friends; what else should I add?” But the more you do it, the more specific you get, and that’s where the magic happens.
You truly start digging into yourself. You learn about yourself. You start appreciating all the seemingly little things. It’s especially exciting when you’re packed with activities, and you suddenly notice you’re wearing a crystal and all the positive thoughts just start pouring out of you.
Feel free to use any objects you love. But if you want to take the whole experience up a notch and really feel energetic and mind shifts, I have noticed an explosive difference while using these crystals to promote gratitude:
Amethyst is an all-purpose stone, it enhances mindfulness and wellbeing. Perfect for giving gratitude. For that reason, it’s one of the crystals I enjoy wearing the most and always recommend it.
Holding or wearing Turquoise helps restore depleted vitality and lifts sagging spirits. It relieves stress and brings focus back to the center heart. It benefits the overall mood and emotion by balancing and inducing a sense of serenity and peace.

Amethyst is an all-purpose stone, it enhances mindfulness and wellbeing. Perfect for giving gratitude. For that reason, it’s one of the crystals I enjoy wearing the most and always recommend it.
Turquoise
Holding or wearing Turquoise helps restore depleted vitality and lifts sagging spirits. It relieves stress and brings focus back to the center heart. It benefits the overall mood and emotion by balancing and inducing a sense of serenity and peace.
Jasper
Jasper is marvelous for clearing the mind which is a good practice to do before giving gratitude. Its highly spiritual energy increases focus and endurance during long ceremonies or practices, in our case - giving gratitude, and is also helpful in establishing new disciplines.
P.S. Are you already promoting gratitude and has it changed your life? Or you haven't really given it many thoughts? I'm always open to hearing your experiences.
Stay blessed,
~Christina
